Owner & Manager
Patrick Boileau
Patrick and his family purchased the Tapiola Outdoor Education Centre in 2024 with a goal of helping people connect with nature, connect with themselves, and connect with others.
Patrick has a passion for the outdoors, and sharing his bushcraft skills with the kids. He hopes to foster a love for the outdoors in others by bringing fun games, and energy to his activities and bushcraft workshops.

Tapiola Wolfpack Program Lead
Miki Tamblyn
Miki Tamblyn is a Wildlife Biologist and local artist with a long history of mentoring youth and teaching outdoors. Her long-term work with The Guelph Outdoor School informs her 8-shields pedagogy and coyote mentorship style, incorporating the flow of the seasons and the special gifts of her students into daily plans while leaving room for improvisation and magic. From studying monkeys in Mexico, to training birds of prey on the West Coast, Miki has found that the natural world is full of the best teachers. Some of Miki’s favourite skills to share are bushcraft, fire-making, basketry, and wildlife tracking. She is stoked to join the Tapiola Wolfpack!

Program Support
Rayanna Santiago
Ray is a secondary school teacher, outdoor educator, retired Muay Thai coach, and current graduate student in the Master of Education in Environmental and Sustainability Education at Lakehead University. At the heart of her teaching and research is fostering connection and relationships with our non-human kin. She believes that the best learning occurs when your hands, heart, and mind are engaged with the natural world around you. In her spare time, she can be found somewhere in the woods, whether it be on a canoe in a backcountry lake, in a tent under fall foliage, or attempting to snowboard and cross country ski through snowy terrain. Ray is always eager to further her abilities as an educator and loves finding opportunities to learn from and with our non-human kin.

Coordinator
Erin Scott
Erin considers herself a steward of the land, drawing upon her education from a Bachelors in Natural Sciences and a Diploma in Early Childhood Education; she aims to cultivate a deep connection to nature in children. She is often found exploring the outdoors, seeking out medicinal plants and fungi, and sharing her traditional ecological knowledge. Erin is the site coordinator often working behind the scenes to make everyone's experiences at Tapiola Outdoor a fun and memorable one.
