About the event

How do you stay alive in the bush? This week we're getting into the fundamentals: what actually keeps a person going when things go sideways, and in what order. We'll talk shelter, warmth, water, and signalling — and why the thing most people reach for first is rarely the thing that matters most.

From there we'll look at how humans have survived in some of the harshest places on earth, and how animals do it right here in our own forest, where every creature has a strategy for getting through a Northwestern Ontario winter.

Then we'll put it to the test with our classic game of Herbivores, Omnivores and Carnivores — a fast, loud run through the forest where kids take on a role in the food web and try to eat without being eaten.
